[Peter Winch] Philosophies and Science (1958)

§1

"I want to argue, on the contrary, that the philosophies of science, art, politics, etc.— subjects which I will call the ‘peripheral’ philosophical disciplines —lose their philosophical character if unrelated to epistemology and metaphysics. But before I can show this in detail, I must first attempt to examine the philosophical foundations of the underlabourer conception of philosophy."
