Waktu Bapa Muballigh Maulānā Yayan Mulyana menyampaikan daras ba'da Ṣalāt Ṣubuḥ tadi, Rabu (23/2), beliau mengutip satu ayat Alqur'ān dari Sūrah Albaqarah ayat yang ke-154. Ini ayat yang sering kita dengar dan temukan saat kita sedang membaca atau mengkajinya secara terpisah.
“Hai orang-orang yang beriman, mohonlah pertolongan dengan sabar dan shalat; sesungguhnya Allah beserta orang-orang yang sabar.” (Alqur'ān Sūrah 2–Albaqarah: 154)
Saya penasaran liat terjemahan Bahasa Inggrisnya pada link web Al-Qur'ān tilaw.at/2:154. Saya lihat ada beberapa versi terjemahan Bahasa Inggris, satu diantaranya adalah yang dari Ḥaḍrat Alḥajj Sir Chaudhary Muhammad Zafrullah Khan r.a., yaitu:
“O ye who believe, seek the help of Allah through steadfastness and Prayer; surely Allah is with the steadfast.” (The Holy Qur'ān Chapter 2–Albaqarah: 154; tilaw.at/2:154)

Dan, berikut adalah kutipan komentar atau tafsir dari Ḥaḍrat Khalīfah Almasīḥ II (Muṣlīḥ Mau‘ūd) Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad r.a. pada The Holy Qur'an (editor Malik Ghulam Farid, edisi terjemahan Bahasa Indonesia, footnote 179 dan 180):
"Ṣabr (sabar) berarti, (1) tekun dalam menjalankan sesuatu; (2) memikul kemalangan dengan ketabahan dan tanpa berkeluh-kesah; (3) berpegang teguh kepada syari’at dan petunjuk akal; (4) menjauhi perbuatan yang dilarang oleh syari’at dan akal." (Ḥaḍrat Abul-Qāsim Ḥussain Ibnu Muḥammad Arrāḡib Al-Iṣfahānī r.h., Al-Mufradāt Fil-Ḡarībil-Qur’ān).
"Ayat ini mengandung satu asas yang hebat sekali untuk mencapai keberhasilan.
"Pertama, seorang Muslim harus tekun dalam usahanya dan sedikit pun tidak boleh berputus asa. Disamping itu, dia harus menjauhi apa-apa yang berbahaya dan berpegang teguh kepada segala hal yang baik.
"Kedua, dia hendaknya berdoa kepada Allāh Swt. untuk keberhasilan; sebab, hanya Allāh Swt.-lah Sumber segala kebaikan.
"Kata-kata Ṣabr (sabar) mendahului kata Ṣalāt dalam ayat ini, dengan maksud untuk menekankan pentingnya melaksanakan hukum Allāh yang terkadang diremehkan karena ketidaktahuan.
"Lazimnya, doa akan terkabul hanya bila didampingi oleh penggunaan segala sarana yang dijadikan oleh Allāh Swt. untuk mencapai sesuatu tujuan."

Important Words:
صبر
(patience) means: (1) to be steadfast and constant in something; (2) to endure afflictions with fortitude and without complaint or murmur; (3) to hold fast to the divine law and the dictates of reason; (4) to refrain from doing what the divine law and reason forbid (Mufradat).
Commentary:
The verse contains a golden principle of success. Firstly, a man should be constant in his endeavours, never relaxing his efforts and never losing heart, at the same time avoiding what is harmful and sticking fast to all that is good. Secondly, he should pray to God for success; for He alone is the source of all good.
The word صبر (patience) precedes the word صلوة (prayer) in the verse to emphasize the importance of observing the laws of God which are sometimes flouted in ignorance. Ordinarily, a prayer can be effective only when it is accompanied by the use of all the necessary means created by God for the attainment of an object. This fact, however, does not minimize the importance of prayer, nor does it impose any limit on the omnipotence of God. If God so wills it, prayer can work wonders even where all earthly means fail.
Islam does not teach utter and blind dependence on material means. Prayer indeed is the essence of Islam. Man is neither omniscient nor omnipotent, and if he does not seek divine guidance and assistance, he can neither see all good nor can he secure it for himself.
As explained under Important Words, the word صبر also signifies, enduring afflictions with fortitude and without complaint and murmur. In this sense the verse would mean that, the present being the time of war and bloodshed, Muslims should bear these hardships with perfect patience and fortitude and that if they did so, God would succour them in their trails.
The concluding portion of the verse, i.e. Allah is with the steadfast, seems to confine itself to صبر only, excluding the element of صلوة . But it is not so really, for صبر in its wider sense includes prayer also. What is meant is that Allah is with those who are steadfast in their endeavours and are steadfast in their prayers. The principle provides a wonderful key to success.▫️
